Mayapple, aka Mandrake


This is the fruit of one of the woodland plants seen in bloom Easter Saturday as below. Although it was trampled and left lying flat on the path by the dogs weeks ago, the fruit itself has remained green and possibly continues to grow.

    I think that’s a may apple (try searching “may apple” or “may apple fruit” in google images)

    Sad. Had to rescue one in Dad’s porch a few years ago. Was in pretty bad shape – could hardly move at first but I think it recovered. I’m leery of that netting now.
